How do you unclog stuffy ears?

I have a terrible head cold with a very stuffy nose. But the annoying part is my right ear seems to be clogged. Not with earwax but like when you need to pop your ears on an airplane. Except I can't seem to get this ear to pop! I've tried holding my nose, closing my mouth and exhaling and it just popped my left ear. I've also tried yawning really wide (sometimes that pops my ears) and that didn't work. Its driving me CRAZY cause it feels like people are talking to me through a wall if they talk to me on that side. Any advice?????
