What is wrong in idol worshiping?

A true christian knows God exists and doesn't need an idol.Idols are nothing more then rocks,sticks,gold,silver,etc.They connot ese,hear or anything else.God wants people to follow Him who can do something.God doesn't hear people that follow idols.
